Knowledge economy is recognizing knowledge, information, know-how as economic assets. This is especially important when it comes to developed economies, which have moved away from the industrial to the service realm. This is especially true in the United States. In order for America to retain an economic edge in the world economy it must invest heavily in knowledge economy now that there is a small remnant of manufactures remaining.
